There is a lack of study on the effect of recent technological changes on songwriting, how this has impacted the craft and creation of song, or the impact these changes have had on songwriters. It is only by exploring these issues that we can assess the way songwriting is changing and how it will influence this popular music form. I aim to engage critically with current songwriting practices drawing on a variety of perspectives and using various tools of analysis as well as my own insights as a professional songwriter and music industry professional.
