The session is designed to support researchers develop teaching tools useful for any environment, from lectures to tutorials. There will be practical tips on such topics as – Generating good conversations; Assessing for learning; Effective questioning and many more. In addition to this, the session will explore some pedagogic theory.

This session is run by The Brilliant Club, a charity that works to widen access to highly-selective universities by placing PhD and postdoctoral researchers in low participation schools. Over the last 5 years they have trained over 1000 researchers across the country to work with school pupils on “The Scholars Programme”. As part of Birmingham City University’s partnership with the charity, The Brilliant Club will be running this course, which is open to all researchers at the university.
