My PhD research, titled “Multi-Sensory Exploration of Dementia-Friendly Neighborhoods via Immersive Design Interventions,” focuses on addressing the pressing issue of dementia in South East Asia, particularly in countries like Sri Lanka, where mental health remains a taboo subject. Through immersive design interventions, I aim to create dementia-friendly environments while promoting open conversations about mental health. Additionally, I am committed to incorporating an aspect of female empowerment within this research. I am proud to be pursuing this endeavor as a recipient of the BCU’s ‘Grow Your Own’ scholarship scheme, dedicated to nurturing innovative research for the betterment of society.
