Wild Materialities: Sculptural Form as an Embodiment of Relationship and Knowledge of the Natural World

My research investigates the entangled and multilayered complexities of human relationship with, and knowledge of, the natural world, through an artistic and auto-ethnographic examination of my life as both an artist and a rural land worker situated in a woodland in Herefordshire, England. I use a reflexive art practice that interrogates relationship and knowledge of the natural world through both the labour of process based art making using wild natural materials to create sculptural forms, alongside the labour of land working.
