Type Talk | Phil Abel: What I’ve been doing at work: some snaps from the Hand & Eye photo album
This year I decided to try to publish at least one photo a day to Instagram and Facebook. I’ll be using this visual diary to give flavour of my work and supplementing it with other pictures to show my machines and illustrate some principals of letterpress printing.
Phil Abel started Hand & Eye Letterpress in 1985 equipped with a treadle platen press, a number of cases old type and some typographic journals. The press is long gone, replaced by two Heidelbergs and a proofing press, but a passion for great printing continues.
