No matter how strong and well-prepared your manuscript, you can guarantee that reviewer 2 will suggest revisions. In fact, the hashtag #reviewer 2 has gone viral – an indicator of curmedgeonly criticism (and fear of it) in the Twittersphere. In this session, a panel of mid-career researchers and Professors will draw on their experiences of giving and receiving peer review. They will also provide examples of how to respond (and how not to respond) when receiving criticism, major revisions or even outright rejection. A pair of brave of volunteers will pre-circulate their work for peer review prior to the session, which will provide the group with an opportunity to put good, supportive, peer review into practice. The session will conclude by considering ways in which we can support peer review among the doctoral community in ADM.
