This study will examine various forms of portrait art in contemporary China through the prism of Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology. In the research, the author will use different forms of visual art practice such as painting, photography, videography, etc., to explore and create portraits of the moment that are different from formal portraiture. The author aims to focus on people’s own perception, and show the unchanging truth of time development in people’s daily life from a microscopic perspective.
