My PhD project aims to analyse Chilean game and player cultures, specifically to explore how nostalgia affects players’ practices in Chile as a critical conceptual tool for understanding the intertextuality of gameplay. The research, from a regional history perspective, will focus on nostalgia as public memory in order to identify player practices and nostalgia from a regional lens in dialogue with international and global perspectives to better understand how it shapes present player practices, communities, and identities.
