This research seeks to explore the connection between government industrial strategy, education policy, and the creative output of British video game developers. The global success of British video game developers has been facilitated by the British government, but the connections between economic policies and cultural policies have not been explored. Through interviews with developers, and the study of games made by British developers, this research will understand how British governments’ approaches education and industrial policy have affected the output of creators and the creative industries in general.
