I will be researching the impact a composer-in-residence can have upon a business. By working with Birmingham based experimental theatre company; Stan’s Cafe. Experimenting with methods of intervention utilised by artists in past business placements through companies like the Artist Placement Group and Conexiones Improbables, I will make music/work based on my observations within the company that then will add value to the work of Stan’s Cafe. I hope for my research to provide a methodology for future theatre groups to utilise when employing a composer in residence, beyond providing incidental music for stage productions.
