This research will be approached in three stages: firstly, catalogue Stefan Knapp’s outdoor enamel works; secondly investigate his methods of work and materials; thirdly research and propose a sustainable method of conservation. Stefan Knapp’s murals are fascinating from a technological point of view as well as an artistic one. Unfortunately, not many people know of his work and he appears to be unknown particularly in his country of birth, Poland. His enamelled murals situated in Torun and Olsztyn are an iconic image of the university and planetarium, but not his name. Collaboration with the University of Torun, where his large enamelled mural is displayed would also be possible, particularly as the university houses the main art conservation faculty in Poland.
