This symposium is aimed at building a Practice as Research community. It will allow students and staff to exchange thoughts and ideas on the interrelationship between practice and theory, from the initial stage of enquiry, through to final output. What is the nature of critical reflection in this context and how does it impact on the nature and quality of the work? What are the common factors that help define research in a practice context? Is practice as research inevitably about a permanent sense of enquiry? These and other questions will be robustly debated.
The day will be opened by Dr Jacqueline Taylor (Birmingham City University) and will include presentations from PhD students, interviews and re/views between guest speakers, a staff-student panel discussion and more.
