You work for your doctorate, but how can your doctorate work for you?

You will have often been asked in relation to your PhD, ‘So what are you going to do with that?.’ This session seeks to inspire answers and stimulate reflection on that question.

This session explores the versatility of the PhD and how it can lead to dynamic outcomes and a range of opportunities. A panel of speakers will talk about how they have found creative means to put their doctorate to use in various fields of professional practice, whether within or beyond the academy.

We will also map out and piece together our own possibilities and trajectories from the PhD onwards to think about the role of the PhD in the bigger picture and what we can do now to prepare for life beyond it.
