My research explores how the concept of seasonality can be applied and understood using arts practice in combination with Phenology; the study of natural processes that make up the different seasons. Using autoethnographic writing and practice-based methods including performance, object making and video work, I explore how art can embody the seasons beyond mere representation.
I explore seasonality as a model for practice-based research seeking ways in which art can trouble seasonal frameworks through performance, sculpture and film investigating how the construction of a sense of place and time emerges from seasonality.
