This research questions how a refocusing of the act of care from the fertilised to the unfertilised egg can both reflect and inform a nurturing of the Absurd within contemporary feminist practice. This is directed by reoccuring roles in philosophical narratives, in which the disruptive femxle acts as facilitator to the masculine realisation of meaninglessness.
Through performative art action and interaction with the critical object, my PhD considers how the Absurd may be generated, experienced and distributed by a femxle-identifying protagonist, leading towards a becoming of ‘The Absurd Heroine’.
