PhD students are invited to join us in a physical exploration of the subterranean side of the city. Moving away from BCU’s Parkside campus, we will endeavour to broaden your sensorial realm, negotiate post-industrial pathways and pass through places, known only to the native and the curious.

Following the success of previous PhD walks, the occasion is meant to deepen your corporeal relationship with Birmingham, heighten an awareness of your surroundings and galvanise the group in moments of movement and mystery.

The walk will take approximately two hours, will not require you to wear specialist footwear but will require you to have a little faith in your guide …
