Design Driven Innovation: Enhancing Idea Quality in Front End Idea Generation Practices in Large Multinational Companies (MNCs)

Marta is in the final stages of a PhD in Design-Driven Innovation. She is a long-term member of the Design, Business and Innovation (DBI) Research Lab under Professor Simon Bolton. She holds an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design and a Masters of Design at Cranfield University. She has been working as a Design Research practitioner for the last five years with organisations such as Procter & Gamble, Nokia and BSkyB.

Her doctoral research was triggered by her professional practice and it is looking at enhancing Front End Idea Generation practices in multinational organisations to improve the quality of ideas generated as well as their alignment to business objectives. The main outcome is a new Synthesised Idea Generation Framework that has proved an improvement in Idea Quality of 20% in multinational organisations.
