Lost inside buildings: Human wayfinding and disorientation behaviour during task-based activity inside complex buildings

How people find their way, or get lost, inside complex buildings like universities and hospitals, and how graphic designer, architects and wayfinding professionals design information to make wayfinding easier is my multi-disciplinary, practice-based area of research. My on-going PhD study compares predicted and recalled behaviour with observed behaviour and talk aloud activities, and also explores the relationship between wayfinding designers and architects in the creation of legible, navigable buildings.
