The aim of this research is to investigate the interconnecting relationships between photographic practice, vision impairment and neuroodiversity.
Three fundamental questions this research will attempt to answer are:
- What is the relationship between photographic practice and the visual processing characteristics of individuals with Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI)?
- Can photography be used to communicate the perceptual experiences of people with CVI?
- Do the key theories of visual perception by Arnheim, Gregory, Gombrich, Zeki and those within the Gestalt school of thought sufficiently accommodate a neurodiverse population?
